Created by architect Eugenio Guarducci in 1994, the event is an event entirely dedicated to the Italian and international chocolate tradition, attracting many tourists and producers of chocolate, artisan and industrial, who sell their products in the streets of the city in equipped exhibition spaces. During the event there are numerous events, shows (and even comedians) and cultural events animating with tasting routes, performances, happening the streets, squares and places of art and tradition of the historic center of the city of Perugia. Among the important events, the show of Chocolate Sculptures, where skilled sculptors work cubic blocks of chocolate of 1 m³ of volume, to obtain works that will remain on display for the duration of the event. Through the special section Eurochocolate World, the event gives voice to all the cocoa-producing world countries, which present their uses, customs, traditions and typical cocoa-based products in the Rocca Paolina. The event is highly patronized by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies. of the support and patronage of the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), the main organization mo the London-based cocoa producers, chocolate processors and final consumers. The event is also sponsored each year by leading companies in various product sectors, as well as all the major chocolate production companies.
